Treatments Overview

Patient-Centered Approach

Functional medicine professionals rely on their knowledge of key physiological, genetic and biochemical processes for establishing an innovative form of total patient wellness amidst the diversity of interests in health care today.

Treating Patients Individually

Outwardly, you are unique in your personality, emotional responses, social and cultural tendencies and the way you make decisions. Inwardly, you are unique in the way your body metabolizes nutrients and processes information at the cellular level. The staff at TIFM understands how individual qualities impact your health needs and cosmetic surgical desires.

Experience & Expertise

We attend dozens of seminars in the United States and internationally every year where we are exposed to breakthroughs in anti-aging medicine. We exhibit, present and speak at the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM) about anti-aging, chelation and heavy metal detoxification. Our sister pharmacy, ApothéCure, exhibits five to six times per year at the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). From these seminars, we glean new information that adds to our protocols and expands our experience and expertise in all forms of anti-aging medicine.

Preventive Care

Optimal health is not just the absence of disease. Even the most minor symptoms can foreshadow more serious conditions later in life. Sometimes, a minor imbalance within the body can produce a snowball effect of biological triggers that can eventually lead to poor health and chronic illness. For this reason, functional medicine focuses on the prevention of even the most minor imbalances.

Here at TIFM, multiple scientific approaches from around the world are used to determine how your body is functioning and why.

Since each patient is unique, one single therapy approach will not work for everyone. Our goal is to custom design each patient's treatment based on his/her specific needs, using advanced diagnostic lab results and focusing on whole body treatment rather than treating symptoms alone. TIFM's approach alleviates symtoms and prevents future disorders.

In the years TIFM has been in business, it has grown to be one of the most advanced medical clinics for Natural Hormones, Heavy Metal Detox, Cardiovascular Disease and overall health and wellness.

Gary Osborn, RPh, CCN (Founder & CEO of TIFM)

Gary Osborn, RPh, CCN — Founder & CEO of TIFM

Gary Osborn opened TIFM to address the needs of his ApothéCure pharmacy clients.

There was a lack of progressive practitioners in the Dallas area and he recognized the demand for a more advanced and preventive approach.

Having worked with hundreds of physicians and created and compounded many unique formulas over the years, Gary had all of the ingredients necessary to open his own clinic.

We offer the following therapies, treatments & procedures:

Breast Augmentation — Rejuvenating Self Image

Breast augmentation is changing the shape of the world. Also known as augmentation mammoplasty, breast augmentation has been a growing area of plastic surgery every year for the past ten years. This procedure is now widely accepted and has been shown to increase a woman's confidence through her own self image. Breast augmentation is not only sought after by women with small breasts, but also by women who have lost breast volume due to aging or childbirth. Additionally, women who have previously had augmentation surgery years ago frequently request implant revision and replacement. Cosmetic breast surgery gives you a lot of individualized options for changing the size and shape of your breasts. Surgical methods and breast-implant technology have improved dramatically in recent years: breast augmentation is less invasive, with more options and better post-surgical results.

Breast augmentation is performed in our surgical suite under twilight anesthesia performed by a board-certified anesthesiologist. The surgery generally takes one hour and patients typically return to work in three to four days. The results are very gratifying. If you have questions or would like to schedule a consult, contact Beverly @ 972-239-6317 Ext 134.

What is Blepharoplasty?

Are you tired of looking tired? Chances are that you have been told you look tired or worn out by well-meaning friends...when in fact you have felt just fine. The eyelids can sometimes make us look tired when we are not.

As we get older, most individuals start to see a difference in their eye area — more laxity, bags below and above the eye; sometimes so much that the upper lid seems to disappear underneath the extra fatty area under the brow bone. Some of you may feel as if your eyes give the appearance of you being tired or angry. Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery, eyelid lift, eyelid tuck) is a procedure to correct the sagging or drooping of the eyelids and the removal of excess fat, skin and muscle or even the herniated fat in the eye area. This procedure can give a more youthful appearance to an otherwise older, more tired looking, face. A blepharoplasty can rid your eyes of its excess baggage and allow you to look as good as you feel.

The procedure is easy and done under twilight anesthesia. It takes approximately one hour and post-operative discomfort is surprisingly mild. If you think that eyelid surgery would help you, contact Beverly @ 972-239-6317 Ext 134.

Spider Veins

Spider veins, also called telangiectasias, are tiny visible vessels just underneath the skin. They develop most commonly on the face and legs. Spider vein treatment (sclerotherapy) has been used for more than forty years. The treatment has become increasingly useful for removing unwanted veins, which are commonly located on the thighs, ankles, and calves. The goal of the treatment is to remove unwanted spider veins permanently and remove the symptoms associated with spider veins.

Spider veins are not the same as varicose veins. Varicose veins are larger and darker in color. Varicose veins are often painful and can be related to a more serious medical condition. Separate treatment is usually necessary for varicose veins.

Spider veins can occur with hormonal changes, during pregnancy, weight gain, repeated prolonged sitting or standing, and the use of certain medications. Spider veins may appear in three different ways, all of which are near the skin surface:

  • Very thin "spider web-like" veins
  • Very thin "tree-like" veins
  • Very thin lengthy single veins
Spider veins are known to burn, swell, and ache. They can be unsightly and interfere with your everyday life.

Spider vein treatment does not require anesthesia. Discomfort is minimal.

Sclerotherapy is a simple technique in which a bright light is directed at the vein as the doctor injects a sclerosing agent into the vein with a very thin needle, which collapses the vein. The needle is very tiny and the injection locations are in close proximity. By collapsing the vein, it will be no longer visible and the uncomfortable symptoms associated with spider veins will subside. A session lasts about fifteen to forty-five minutes. The treatment may be repeated to achieve optimal results. Patients return home immediately after treatment. For more information contact Beverly @ 972-239-6317 Ext 134.

Lumps and Bumps

Moles, skin tags, precancerous or cancerous lesions — as we age these all tend to pop up somewhere. Removing them is simple and relatively painless. Get rid of those unsightly "lumps and bumps"; call Beverly @ 972-239-6317 Ext 134.

Earlobe Repair

Heavy, dangling earrings take their toll on pierced ears, and stretched or torn earlobes are not uncommon. However, there is hope. Earlobes can be easily repaired with a short procedure under local anesthetic with a quick recovery. Call Beverly @ 972-239-6317 Ext 134.

The Road to a More Shapely Body

Even with a good diet and regular exercise, persistent fat pockets still exist for many of us. Many of us aren't lazy either, we do crunches and use than gosh-awful stair climber several times a week, restrict calories and up our protein and veggies and still -- saddle bags and belly fat. Those of you who have fatty areas which do not easily come off with exercise and diet, are induced by certain medications, hormonal imbalances and other causes, liposuction may be just what you've been looking for if you are a candidate

Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty, liposculpture and suction assisted body contouring, suction lipectomy, involves the use of an instrument known as a cannula and a vacuum pump type machine for removing unwanted fat from a specific area. Liposuction can be performed on the abdomen area, the flanks, the hip area, the buttocks, the inner and outer thighs, above the knees, in the upper arms, under the chin, and neck area and anywhere else stubborn pockets of fat. Fat removal is very popular -- many people have some fat they wish they could get rid of.

This plastic surgery procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia. Time in surgery varies depending on the size of the area being treated, but is usually less than an hour. Using the recently developed procedure tumescent liposuction, local anesthesia provides both a numbing effect and a means to help remove fat.

Fat deposits adhere to the underside of the skin and can be removed if they can be dislodged. A local anesthetic is applied to the area where the fat deposits are to be removed. An incision is made and a cannula (a long hollow needle) is inserted under the skin and scraped along the underside skin surface, loosening the fat deposits. The cannula is hollow with holes at the end to allow suction. The fat deposits are then sucked into the vacuum through a tube connected to the cannula.

You must be able to voice your desires to your surgeon if he/she is to understand what your desired results are. You should be at a steady weight (about 20% of your *ideal* body weight, although some surgeons advise anywhere from 15 to 30%) and generally healthy. Liposuction is not a means to lose weight. Liposuction is typically for the removal of unwanted, stubborn fat in specific areas. You should have good elasticity so that your skin is able to bounce back to its former tightness once the fat is removed.

Best Candidates for Liposuction

People who are near their ideal body weight and are seeking reduction of specific areas of diet-resistant fat make the best candidates. The most common areas where diet-resistant fat would be the hips (love handles), outer thighs (saddle bags), abdomen, neck, inner thighs, knees, or arms.

People whose weight has been stable for at least 6 months do better with liposuction than those whose weight has been changing.

Skin tone is also important. If you have good skin tone, your skin will retract (shrink wrap) after lipo. If you have poor tone with loose saggy skin or stretch marks, then your skin will not tighten and may, in some cases, look worse.

Natural Hormone Replacement Therapy

The experts at TIFM are well-known for hormone balancing for both women and men. Gary was instrumental in the development of "natural" hormones therapy with Dr. Jonathan over 16 years ago and has been at the forefront since then in the development of new custom compounds and applications. Advanced testing and evaluation methods are used to accurately measure hormone levels. Natural hormones are then used to replace your body's own hormones — safely and naturally. Bio-Identical has never properly addressed this area of medicine. But "Natural" is better as we strive to match Mother Nature — NOT FDA or big pharma!

TIFM has achieved recognition not only in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but worldwide, for effectively relieving the unpleasant side effects resulting from imbalanced hormones.

Adrenal Functioning

The Adrenal Glands are responsible for your body's stress response, inflammation control, hormone balance, and so much more. If the adrenals are not functioning properly, your body could be at risk for a multitude of physical and mental problems. Gary has been at the forefront in this area and has become an expert in not only applying to TIFM patients but also educating other physicians.

TIFM uses advanced testing methods to determine how well the adrenal glands are functioning. We prescribe top-selling compounded adrenal support products to correct these deficiencies.

Food Allergies

TIFM uses a sophisticated blood-pull testing method to assess over 190 foods that could potentially be causing chronic allergies. We also commonly utilize the EDS system we have to simply show what the top 10-20 foods may be stressful to your system and have found that eliminating these foods for 3 months will lead to stronger adrenals, more energy and weight loss. We also understand that other organs or glands, such as the adrenal glands, are tremendously affected as well as affecting all of the sex hormones productions. Find out what you can do to better control your allergies today!

Auto-Immune Diseases

If caught in the early stages, many auto-immune diseases, such as Parkinson's, MS and Alzheimers can be treated with heavy metal detox therapies and other unique treatments offered at TIFM.

Cardiovascular Disease

CVD cannot be prevented or treated by cholesterol lowering drugs or by adopting a "low-fat" lifestyle. Heavy metal toxicity, high homocysteine levels, arterial inflammation and an underactive thyroid can all play a role in CVD. TIFM offers advanced diagnostic testing and preventive treatment programs for CVD. Bypass the surgeon, not your heart!

Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia (CFIDS/FM)

Are you tired all of the time and don't know why? Let the experts at TIFM determine why so you can get your life back on track. There are many factors involved in any chronic illness, such as heavy metal toxicity, adrenal stress, thyroid imbalances and yeast.

Heavy Metals

Mercury and other heavy metals found in silver fillings (amalgams) and the environment have been shown to cause a variety of illnesses, including cardiovascular disease, reproductive, neurological and gastrointestinal disorders. TIFM is world-renowned for their detox therapies to safely rid the body and cells of these known toxins. These therapies are based on years of research and training and are safe and effective.

Nutrition

Do you ever wonder if you are eating correctly? Do certain foods make you feel bad? Do you have difficulty losing weight? You might not be consuming the correct foods. TIFM can help modify your diet according to your specific needs. These needs are determined by your metabolic type and allergies. We also use a sophisticated piece of equipment, the EAV machine (Electrodermal Screening), to determine what supplements your body needs the most.

Osteoporosis

Detection, prevention and treatment are key factors in osteoporosis. The proper combination of preventive measures, such as advanced bone testing and proper nutrition must be taken along with addressing the causative factors of osteoporosis, such as heavy metal toxicity, imbalanced hormones and improper diet and supplementation.

Prolotherapy (Pain)

TIFM approaches knee injuries, torn rotator cuffs, shoulder problems using Prolotherapy, a proven method of rebuilding ligaments thru the use of injections into the weak ligament tissue. This process naturally strengthens the affected area. We also use a lot of Hyaluronic Acid; either injected into the joint or taken orally in our Collagen/Hyaluronic Acid Drink.

Prostate

The key to dealing with prostate issues is to first determine what is causing them. Today's medical society is too quick to cut before determining the underlying causes such as toxic heavy metals, bacteria, viruses and yeast. In addition to hormone balancing, our strength lies in the ability to determine the cause of these disorders and treat them while relieving the symptoms at the same time.

Thyroid

Is your hair falling out? Do you have difficulty losing weight? Does your doctor inform you that "all is well" with your thyroid? Well, your doctor could be incorrect!! TIFM has advanced diagnostic testing methods to determine how well your thyroid gland is actually functioning. Misdiagnosis of the thyroid gland is one of the most common complaints heard at TIFM. Allow us to help you get your thyroid back into balance. If in doubt, take our Thyroid/Adrenal test.

Thermal Imaging

TIFM uses the latest thermal imaging equipment to detect breast cancer and other inflammatory conditions of the body, such as thyroid inflammation. This equipment uses heat to detect abnormalities of the breast. The thermal imaging process is safe and effective and uses NO harmful radiation or painful vices. It has been proven that this detection method can discover breast cancer up to 7 months to 1 year before a mammogram or breast self examination.

UVB-Ozone

TIFM is one of the few clinics in the United States to use this very advanced IV procedure. UVB-Ozone, when combined and mixed with blood, has been shown to be extremely effective in ridding the body of viral and/or bacterial infections and boosting the immune system. Ozone alone can also be used for infections of the ear as well.
