The face and neck are out there for everyone to see - it's the first thing others notice when we meet them. As we age or gain weight, we tend to accumulate fat in the neck or jowl. Often, we first notice this changing profile in photographs and we then begin to be very conscientious about how we 'carry' our head to 'cover up' our growing necks and fading jaw line. Unfortunately, this problem is almost always resistant to dieting or exercise.

Liposuction and the face and neck can result in a dramatic improvement in appearance. It is a simple procedure performed using local (tumescent) anesthesia with IV sedation. Tiny incisions are made under the chin (in the crease) and behind the earlobes - all well hidden. The entire procedure usually last 30 minutes or less. Recovery entails minimal discomfort and most patients are back to work in 2 or three days.

There are certain limitations with this procedure. If a patient has excess skin under the chin and neck or has poor skin elasticity, they may need a neck lift or even a facelift to correct the problem.

Combining face and neck liposuction with a chin implant, mini face lift, eyelid tuck (blepharoplasty) or injection of facial fillers (Juvederm, Perlane, Radiesse, Fat) is commonly done and can result in a beautiful rejuvenation of your face.
