Liposuction is More Popular than Ever
Despite your personal success in getting plenty of exercise and eating the right foods, stubborn persistent fat deposits frequently remain. This is commonly seen as we age and is often an inherited trait. . Very often, because of the aging process or following pregnancy, fat redistributes to locations that were previously never a problem. Liposuction can help rejuvenate your self-confidence and significantly enhance your appearance. Liposuction, also known as liposculpture or lipoplasty, is a well known procedure that has been around since the early 1990's. It is one of the most common aesthetic procedures performed in the United States. This procedure is designed for the permanent removal of fatty tissue. It allows for the creation of a more balanced, sculpted, and harmonious appearance. Even small amounts of fat, removed from isolated areas, can create amazing results in the body's contour.
It's Easy...and Safe
The procedure is relatively simple yet requires an artistic eye to accomplish good, consistent results. We always perform the procedure under IV sedation ("twilight") with local (tumescent) anesthesia. Almost any area with excess fat can be treated but the most common regions include the abdomen, hips, thighs, back, knees and arms. Small canullas (metal tubes) are inserted through a series of tiny, strategically placed nicks in the skin and the unwanted fat is gently removed while the remaining fat is sculpted. If desired, removed fat can be saved and re-injected into the face or hands as a filler or frozen for use at a later date.
Getting Back to Normal
Results are enjoyed almost immediately and you will see continued improvement as swelling subsides. Following the procedure, a compression garment (more like a fancy girdle) is worn for 4 - 6 weeks. You will be up and walking around the day after surgery. You will be ready to return to office work in three-to-five days and more active activities at 10-14 days.
