The Mini Face Lift uses smaller incisions and therefore causes less tissue injury and trauma (less invasive) than a traditional face lift. It is usually performed under local anesthesia with I.V. sedation.  The minimal incision facelift uses a small incision placed inconspicuously in a skin crease in front of the ear and may wrap around the earlobe.  A small amount of skin on the face is raised to gain access to the deeper tissues.  The majority of the strength of the lift is through the repositioning and tension placed on this deeper tissue layer of the face. The excess skin is then trimmed.  The procedure takes approximately 2 to 3 hours to perform.  The Mini Lift can be combined with other surgical corrections such as a chin implant, neck liposuction, facial fat transfer or eyelid surgery. Swelling and bruising following the mini-facelift will last about one week.  Discomfort following the procedure is mild.
