Recontouring the Neck for a More Youthful Look
The face and neck are usually the first features we notice when we meet someone new, so improvements in this area can create a dramatic change. A firm, trim neck gives the face a more youthful look.
For many, the undersurface of the neck becomes more full, plump, and rounded with time and with weight gain. Unfortunately this problem is all too familiar. Often times, despite dieting and exercise, the prominence and roundness of our neck persist and the neck can appear more full than desired.
Neck liposuction is effective for removing localized fatty deposits in the undersurface of the neck area and the lower neck region. The procedure generally is done under IV sedation. Small incisions are created behind the ear lobule and also in the submental (under jaw) crease just below the chin. These incisions hide well and scarring is minimal. Removal of excess fat is then accomplished through a small canula tube that is attached to a suction device. An artistic re-contouring and sculpting of the specific area or areas is performed and the end result is a significantly re-sculpted contour that improves the overall aesthetic appearance of the neck region.
